Victorian Splendor:
Unveiling The Emerald Conservatory

Victorian Stained Glass Window with Peacocks

Design Inspiration

Trailing the aesthetics of the late 19th century, the concept for the nature bird glass was born from a desire to bring the garden inside. We looked to the works of the Art Nouveau movement for guidance. The peacock, a symbol of immortality and beauty, became our central motif, rendered in deep teals and iridescent blues.

Artisan Techniques

The fabrication required over 19 hours of meticulous craftsmanship. We utilized the traditional copper foil method, allowing for finer lines and more intricate details than lead came typically permits. The glass selection was rigorous; we sourced mouth-blown antique glass from Germany to ensure the bubbles and striations caught the afternoon light just so.

Final Installation

Newly installed today, the window transforms the space entirely. As the sun traverses the sky, the room is bathed in a kaleidoscope of emerald and sapphire. It is not merely a window; it is a living painting that changes with the seasons, a permanent testament to the enduring allure of Victorian craftsmanship in the modern era.
